Police look for driver who crashed stolen car in Nuuanu ravine

Police are looking for the driver of a stolen car that crash into a ravine this morning in Nuuanu Valley near Morgan’s Corner on the Old Pali Road.

Capt. Terry Seelig, Honolulu Fire Department spokesman, said the car was found 30 feet down a ravine below the Old Pali Road after 7:30 a.m.

Firefighters examined the wreck, but did not find anyone in or near the car.

A police investigation found that the car was an unreported stolen vehicle. The car has been removed from the ravine.

The accident scene is near 3939 Nuuanu Pali Drive.

Police closed northbound traffic on Nuuanu Pali Drive at the Old Pali Road for nearly two hours while it investigated the accident.
