A policewoman, 37, and a man were seriously injured in an early morning crash on Kapiolani Boulevard.

The driver of a black Mercedes, a 69-year-old male, crashed into a building at 1326 Kapiolani Boulevard at 12:20 a.m. near Sheridan Street after a collision with a blue-and-white police car, according to an Emergency Medical Services report.

The smashed front end of the police vehicle could be seen facing the opposite direction of traffic in the Koko Head-bound lanes of Kapiolani Boulevard.

Police shut down the Koko Head-bound lanes of Kapiolani Boulevard between Piikoi and Kona Iki streets while they investigated the crash.

Paramedics took both victims to the hospital in serious condition.
