Police say store clerk punched after refusing to sell liquor

A 26-year-old Waianae man, upset that a cashier told him that he couldn’t buy more liquor, allegedly punched a store cashier in Waianae Saturday afternoon, police said.

According to a police report, the already intoxicated man became upset around

3:30 p.m. Saturday when the store clerk refused to sell him liquor. The suspect allegedly punched the cashier and left the store, but returned with what police called a “dangerous instrument.”

Police said the man threatened the cashier and damaged a nearby ATM. Officers arrested the man around 4:20 p.m. near the B K Superette on suspicion of first-degree terrorist threatening, fourth-degree criminal property damage, and third-degree assault.
