A 22-year-old Kalihi man was arrested Tuesday for allegedly kidnapping a 16-year-old boy at gunpoint.

Police said the man initially threatened the youth about 3:15 p.m. and then threatened a 19-year-old girl to drive him out of Kalihi. The suspect then only took the boy, police said.

When police were called they located the boy, the suspect and recovered a handgun which they believe was stolen in a burglary. There were no injuries.

The suspect was arrested on suspicion of kidnapping, first-degree theft, extortion using a firearm and three firearms violations.
