Rain clouds heading to Oahu from the south
Weather radar showed a line of heavy rain moving over Oahu from the south this afternoon.

Sunny skies over Oahu this morning have turned gray this afternoon as storm clouds mover over the island from the south.
A radar image showed a band of clouds carrying heavy rain, even thunderstorms, moving towards Oahu early this afternoon.
A storm system moving over the state this weekend is to blame for the change in the weather.
Rain is forecast statewide. Snow could also fall on Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa.
Winds are also shifting to the south and the Kona winds will bring muggy and voggy weather.
Most of the rains will be focused on windward and southeast facing slopes. The best chance for snow on summits above 12,000 feet will be this afternoon through Sunday morning.
Forecasters said there is a 70 to 80 percent chance of rain tonight into Sunday. The rain could be locally heavy and there’s a slight chance of thunderstorms.
The system is expected to pass Oahu by Sunday night, but winds will remain light through Friday, when trade winds should finally return.
