The city Department of Emergency Management has extended its warning that critical fire weather conditions are either present or imminent through 6 p.m. Friday.

The National Weather Service first issued a red flag warning Wednesday due to strong winds and low relative humidity for mainly leeward areas of all islands.

Winds are blowing at 20 to 25 mph with higher gusts. Humidity is at 40 to 45 percent.

The public should take precautionary and preparedness actions, the Department of Emergency Management said.
