Rescue personnel help hiker who broke ankle on Molokai trail
Fire rescue personnel from Kaunakakai and Pukoo assisted a female hiker from Calgary, Canada, after she slipped and suffered a broken ankle while hiking with family along the Halawa Valley Trail today.
The rescuers located the 59-year-old woman about two miles up the trail, stabilized her on a backboard, and carried her off the trail.
She was transported by ambulance to Molokai General Hospital in stable condition.
