A lawsuit by the family of a 3-year-old Hawaii girl who died after suffering a heart attack during a dental procedure has been settled.

Hawaii News Now reported Wednesday that terms of the settlement between Finley Boyle’s family and the dentist’s insurance company weren’t made public. The family’s attorney, Rick Fried, says they’re pleased with the amount.

The girl went to dentist Lilly Geyer in December for 10 cavities. Finley suffered a heart attack after being given a combination of sedatives and lapsed into a coma. She died a month later.

An autopsy concluded the heart attack was likely the result of the five drugs.

Geyer has since closed her Kailua office. The state is investigating her use of the drugs and whether she can keep her dental license. Geyer’s attorney couldn’t immediately be reached for comment.
