SEOUL, South Korea (AP) – South Korea’s legislature has approved a former top state inspector as the country’s new prime minister.
The National Assembly voted by 169-71 on Friday to confirm Kim Hwang-sik as the country’s No. 2 official. Kim had served as chairman of the Board of Audit and Inspection.
The prime minister’s post is largely ceremonial in a country where power is heavily concentrated around the president.
