LAS VEGAS — Authorities in Las Vegas have identified a 47-year-old Hawaii man who shot himself to death outside a terminal at McCarran International Airport.

The Clark County coroner’s office said Monday the death of Jonathan Richard Landrey was ruled a suicide.

Landrey died about 5:30 p.m. Sunday after authorities say he shot himself in the chest on a sidewalk outside an entrance to the airport’s Terminal 2 international flights complex.

Police didn’t immediately respond to requests for comment about how long Landrey had been in Las Vegas or what led to the shooting.

No other injuries were reported.

The main terminal entry was closed temporarily after the shooting, but airport officials said no flights were affected.
