A surfer who cut his foot had to be rescued yesterday from the Mokulua Islands.

Firefighters received a call from the man’s friend saying he need help about 3:20 p.m., said Honolulu Fire Department Capt. Terry Seelig.

Rescuers from the Kailua fire station went out in a water recue vehicle and brought the man, who is in his 30s, back to shore, then transferred him to paramedics about 30 minutes later, Seelig said.
