Two teen-age boys were arrested for allegedly trying to steal several koi from Ala Moana Center’s outdoor ponds with a net, police said.

A 63-year-old man noticed the fish acting strangely around 5:15 a.m. yesterday morning, then saw one of the teenagers in the water with a net while the other boy was outside the pond holding a bucket, police said.

The man called security guards, who discovered that the boys were in possession of several fish worth a total of more than $300.

Police arrived and arrested the boys on suspicion of second-degree theft.
