Clouds from a weak weather system are beginning to move over the state from the northwest.

Relief from a week of muggy and voggy weather is on its way as cooling tradewinds return to the islands on Mother’s Day.

A weak weather system has started to move over the state, bringing clouds and some rain to Kauai Sunday. An increased chance of showers is expected on Oahu and Maui Sunday night.

Because the tradewinds have started to return, the showers will mostly affect windward and mauka sections, but some rain may be blown over leeward sections.

Tradewinds of 10 to 15 mph are expected on Oahu, with an increased chance of showers through at least Tuesday.
