The University of Hawaii Foundation has hired the head of development for a Canadian university as its new vice president of development.

The foundation announced Wednesday that Greg Willems had been named to the post, where he will oversee fundraising and development operations.

Most recently, Willems was executive director of development at the University of British Columbia. Before that, he was a senior director of development for the Texas A&M Foundation.

UH Foundation President and CEO Donna Vuchinich says Willems has significant experience working on high-level campaigns involving engineering, geophysics, Division I athletics and medicine.
