LAS VEGAS >> Las Vegas police are facing a trio of federal lawsuits accusing officers of improperly assaulting three people during 2013 New Year’s Eve festivities on Las Vegas Boulevard.

Raymond Harmon, Jackie Hubbard and Rickey Ward filed separate civil rights complaints seeking damages of more than $10,000 each against the department and officers Tom Jenkins and Amanda Frey.

Their lawyer, Amanda Connor, said Thursday that a cellphone video posted on YouTube shows what happened.

Hubbard maintains that he was intervening to stop a fight when he was choked by police, handcuffed, but eventually freed.

Ward claims an officer slapped a cellphone from his hand as he was recording, and that he was improperly choked and arrested. No charges were filed.

Harmon alleges that he was improperly choked, handcuffed, detained and then released.
