Power has been restored to most of the 1,300 customers who lost electricity when a car hit a utility pole on Wilhelmina Rise on Wednesday morning.

Hawaiian Electric Co. spokesman Darren Pai said most customers got their power back by 8 a.m. About 10 customers near the accident scene did not get their power restored until repairs were completed on the pole by about noon.

The accident happened near the intersection of 16th Avenue and Koko Drive at about 7 a.m.

Hawaii News Now reports the driver of the car fled the scene.
