Honolulu police are searching for five men in connection with a robbery and kidnapping that occurred Friday afternoon, according to police records.

A 29 year-old man told police that he was forced at gunpoint by five masked men into a car and had a bag placed over his head while being driven around.

The men stole $2,000 in cash from the victim and held him down in the car for most of the ride, police said. He escaped in the Haleiwa area and called for help.

Police said the victim thinks the suspects might have been armed with a pistol, revolver or an assault rifle.

The incident occurred from around 2 to 3 p.m., according to police records.
