The Honolulu Medical Examiner identified a Japanese national and a Waianae man who died in separate incidents in Kailua Bay and Kaena Point State Park.

A 53-year-old man who died while swimming in Kailua Bay yesterday was identified as Juichi Fukuyama, of Azumino City in the Nagano Province in Japan.

City lifeguards found Fukuyama unresponsive around 12:55 p.m., brought him ashore and performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Paramedics took him to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

An autopsy is scheduled for today.

A man who collapsed at Hercules Rock at Kaena Point State Park Sunday afternoon was identified as Houston Anderson III, of Waianae.

He was taken to Waianae Coast Comprehensive Health Center in “extremely critical condition” and was later pronounced dead.

Lifeguards had performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

The cause of death is pending further tests, the Medical Examiner’s Office said.
