Inmate visits at Oahu Community Correctional Center have been suspended for about a month because of a guard shortage and the need to rein in overtime

Visits to the Oahu Community Correctional Facility have been canceled for Saturday, the Department of Public Safety announced.

Staff shortages forced the cancelations of visits to prisoners.

OCCC opened a  "hotline" for inmate visitation cancellation notices.

Updated visitation messages will be posted by 6:15 a.m. Saturday mornings at 832-1623.

The Department of Public Safety is also putting out visitation cancellation notices through social media between 6:30 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. on scheduled visitation days.
