A variety of weather, from vog to snow, is expected across the state today as a storm system begins to move away from the islands.

A slight chance of thunderstorms remains in the forecast for all islands through this afternoon.  The chance of rain is greatest on the Big Island and Maui.

Oahu and Kauai should see mostly sunny, but hazy skies today.

Light, southeast winds are blowing volcanic haze across the state. The Kona winds are also creating muggy conditions and the chance of afternoon showers.

A flood advisory for the Big Island expired at 8 a.m. after heavy rains moved offshore.

Forecasters said temperatures on Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa are cold enough for snow to fall,

The National Weather Service said the storm system that brought the heavy rain overnight and this morning should move off to the northeast. The heavy rain caused flooding Saturday night that closed the Highway 19 at at the Hakalau Bridge for a short time at about 6 p.m.

Winds will remain light through the week and vog and muggy conditions will continue.

Light trade winds may return Thursday night.
