Big Island police are investigating a possible drowning of a 51-year-old visitor from Wisconsin who was snorkeling yesterday with her family in South Kona.

An autopsy has been ordered to determine the cause of death of Jodi Kessler, of Hartland, Wis.

Kessler was snorkeling with family members in Kaohe when she became distressed and began to struggle to stay afloat. Family members were able to get her to shore and began cardiopulmonary resuscitation just after 10 a.m. yesterday.
