A 42-year-old man fended off a 31-year-old female acquaintance who broke into his Waikiki home and beat him with an unknown object, police said.

Officers arrested the woman about 1:45 p.m. yesterday on suspicion of first-degree burglary after the man saw her and called police.

Police said the woman, who was an acquaintance of the man, entered the man’s home without permission about 5:30 p.m. Sunday and beat him with an object, causing injury. The woman fled when the man fought her off.
