Woman escapes from police after her arrest for shoplifting
A 23-year-old Aina Haina woman, who had been arrested for allegedly shoplifting and was in police custody, allegedly escaped 6:36 p.m. Wednesday.
The woman was arrested on suspicion of fourth-degree theft, and while police were transporting her to the main station, fled, police said.
A uniformed police officer stopped and arrested the woman at 1360 Pali Highway on suspicion of the additional offense of second-degree escape.
