A 67-year-old woman suffered burns on her arm, shoulder and face when fire broke out in the living room of a home at 1220-A Kaauwai Place in Kalihi early Sunday morning.

Firefighters arriving at the home saw light smoke at about 12:55 a.m., according a Fire Department spokesman.

The fire was contained to a living room and was brought under control in about 10 minutes and extinguished by 1:17 a.m.

An ambulance took the woman to Straub Medical Center.

Damage to the home and its contents was estimated at $25,000.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, but appears to be accidental, a fire investigator said.
