A new day and time slot put "Hawaii Five-0" well ahead of its rivals for Friday’s fourth-season premiere, according to Nielsen ratings information released Monday by CBS.
"Five-0" drew 9.46 million viewers to easily win the hour over its nearest rival, ABC’s "Shark Tank," with 6.94 million viewers, followed by NBC’s "Dateline," which drew 6.5 million viewers, and an encore of the creepy new Fox drama "Sleepy Hollow," which drew 2.71 million viewers.
Among adults 18-49, a coveted audience, "Five-0" drew 1.6 percent of the total viewing audience Friday and 5 percent of those watching TV at the time, CBS said. That put it behind "Shark Tank," which drew 2 percent of the total viewing audience and 7 percent of those watching TV.
For its first three seasons, the rebooted version of "Five-0" aired in Hawaii at 9 p.m. Mondays. The network changed that for the new season, choosing to air it at 8 p.m. Fridays in Hawaii.
The network premiere came a day after nearly 8,000 fans watched the season’s first episode under the stars at Sunset on the Beach in Waikiki.
