South Korea aims to lure islanders to travel there

The Korea Tourism Organization estimates there are 20,000 to 30,000 visitors from Hawaii to South Korea every year. One popular attraction is Gyeongbokgung Palace in Seoul along with the National Folk Museum of Korea and the National Palace Museum of Korea.

More visitors from South Korea are coming to Hawaii since the country's inclusion in the U.S. Visa Waiver program in November 2008, according to the Hawaii Tourism Authority. Jong Im checked in Saturday at the Asiana Airlines ticket counter at Honolulu Airport with help from Sung Kim.
