Outrigger opens its 46th location in Mauritius
Outrigger Hotels and Resorts has expanded into the Republic of Mauritius, an island in the Indian Ocean.
The 66-year-old kamaaina company’s opening of the Outrigger Mauritius Resort and Spa on April 16 marks its 46th property now open or under development in eight countries.
Outrigger senior executives and the company’s founding family members flew in from Hawaii to celebrate the Mauritius opening, which followed a nine-month, multimillion-dollar renovation of all 181 rooms within the beachfront resort. Outrigger, headquartered in Hawaii, also owns or manages properties in Australia, Guam, Fiji, Thailand, Mauritius, Vietnam, China and on Hainan island and Bali.
