Coldwell Banker Pacific Properties agent Stewart Wade turned 100 on Sunday, and his co-workers and agents from other Coldwell Banker offices turned out for his surprise birthday party Tuesday in Kailua.
Wade was presented with a paper memory lei made with 100 pieces of paper on which people wrote messages to him.
Still active, Wade has closed two deals along with a co-listed agent so far this year, according to Fannie Cline, senior vice president and branch manager.
"I don’t work all the time," Wade said, adding that he swims in the ocean at least three days a week.
"He does 600 strokes in 18 minutes," said his wife, Cecilia Christenson-Wade.
Wade became a Realtor at age 54. "This is my fourth career," he said.
He attributes his longevity to staying busy, being happy and passionate about what he does, and having a positive attitude.
Wade has "a wealth of knowledge and knows so many different aspects of the marketplace and history here in Hawaii" and is "always willing to share that knowledge with other agents … which is planting the seeds of success for other agents," Cline said.
