Kulu Kulu Cake celebrated its fifth anniversary in Hawaii last week with the debut of its Mille Crepe Cake, a 20-layer creation of paper-thin crepes, separated by sublime but not-too-sweet layers of French pastry cream.
Everybody starts somewhere, and at the Hawaii Culinary Education Foundation, the focus is on providing isle culinary students with a solid launch, including experiences outside the classroom that expand their knowledge of the culinary world.
Amy Pottinger of Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam was eliminated from the televised “Food Network Star” competition Sunday but could come back if her turn during the online-only “Star Salvation” competition, immediately following the show, was deemed successful.
