The University of Hawaii coed sailing team finished in second place, while the Rainbow Wahine took 15th at the 29th annual Stoney Burke Intersectional held Saturday and Sunday at Clipper Cove off of Treasure Island in San Francisco Bay.
Former Hawaii second-team All-America middle blocker Emily Maglio, who has been playing indoors for her native Canada, will return for a final beach volleyball season with the Rainbow Wahine.

Chaminade sophomore Beau Larsen became the first male Chaminade runner to capture first-place honors at a cross country event, winning the UH Hilo Invitational at the Naniloa Banyan Golf Course.

The Hawaii soccer team was dealt a searing defeat in its Big West Conference opener on Friday at UC Irvine, as the Rainbow Wahine gave up the golden goal with one second left in double overtime for a 1-0 loss.
