Octoberfest promises a long menu of German food and beer from Chinatown's best restaurants

CHICKEN DANCE OPTIONAL: This is the time of year to get your fill of wursts and sauerkraut. Head to the Octoberfest Street Festival at Nuuanu and Hotel streets from 6 to 10 p.m. today for the likes of pork loin schnitzel and braised rib, cabbage and German potato salad from Murphy's; rindergulash over spaetzle and beef braised with Sam Adams Octoberfest beer from JJ Dolans; bratwurst with sauerkraut in a baguette from Du Vin; smoked sausage with potato pancakes and red cabbage slaw from Indigo; and much more. VIVA ITALIA!: Hoku's at the Kahala will celebrate the Italian Film Festival with a special menu from 5:30 to 10:30 p.m. through Sunday, featuring Burrata, Roasted Beet & Arugula Pizza, Porcini, Pancetta, Treviso and Day Boat Scallops and Ricotta Panna Cotta with Espresso Gelee. MONDAY NIGHT LIVE: Wolfgang's Steakhouse by Wolfgang Zwiener is inviting football fans to watch "Monday Night Football" at the restaurant every week and enter to win a six-day, five-night trip for two to Las Vegas from Vacations Hawaii. There will be drink specials, such as $4 draft beer, and food specials of prime Angus hamburger sliders, ahi tartare or prime tenderloin steak kabobs at $7 each will be available during the game, beginning 1:30 p.m. through Nov. 1 and 2:30 p.m. from Nov. 8. HAWAII BOWL BEER FEST: Murphy's Bar & Grill will host the Hawaii Bowl Foundation Beer Fest, 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, with beers, grinds and a live auction of trips, hotel stays, sports memorabilia and more, in support of the Na Koa Football Club and other local nonprofits helping the community.
