THIS CONTEST HAS ENDED.
The only thing better than being scared is scaring someone else. So why not make your own spooky movie?
The Star-Advertiser's second annual Halloween Video Contest is accepting entries in two divisions: open and youth (students through grade 12).
Entries should not exceed five minutes and must comprise original content that has not appeared elsewhere. (Videos with excessive gore or violence will not be considered.) The deadline to enter is 5 p.m. Oct. 14.
Upload entries to YouTube and email the URL to firstname.lastname@example.org, along with information on the video, the filmmakers and your contact information. One entry per person. The open division winner will receive a $300 cash prize; the youth division prize is $100.
Finalists will be posted on HonoluluPulse.com with the winners announced Oct. 31. The judges' decisions are final. The contest is open to Hawaii residents only; employees of Oahu Publications Inc. and their family members are not eligible. By entering the contest, you grant the Star-Advertiser a royalty-free license to use your video. Winners' names and photos will appear in the Star-Advertiser.
