By Star-Advertiser staff

POSTED:

Hawaii's horror movie fans have spoken, clicking away to select a People's Choice winner in the Halloween Video Contest sponsored by the Star-Advertiser and Hawaii News Now. It's "The Revelation Project," by Christian Gutierrez, a 15-year-old Punahou School student.

Gutierrez's video drew an astonishing 12,857 views Oct. 19-23. The film is a trailer that was written and directed by Gutierrez, who also stars in it.

In his emailed entry, Gutierrez said he wants to become a filmmaker and admires directors George Lucas and Steven Spielberg.

Gutierrez will receive $100 and an $80 gift certificate for Wahoo's Fish Tacos.

"The Creature," by 16-year-old Noah Kiriu, was second with 924 views.

Our panel of professional judges will announce its winner in Wednesday's edition of the Star-Advertiser and on Hawaii News Now "Sunrise," which will feature the five video finalists starting Monday.

The videos also are posted on honolulupulse.com.
