Obamarama

As the first Pacific president, Hawaii-born Barack Obama caused a great stir, not just in politics, but in the souvenir tschotske industry. Obamas royalty-free image has been reproduced on everything from beach towels to bobbleheads to license plates. Accordingly, the Japanese Cultural Center of Hawaii is preparing an exhibit of Obama-kitsch to be unveiled in November, and theyre looking for examples to show off. Got any Obama stuff? (Theyll be returned.) Contact Christy Takamune at 945-7633 or takamune@jcch.com, or Christine Yano at 956-4447 or cryano@hawaii.edu.
