Show provides peek at 2013 holiday designs

Manami Tosh models one of Matt Brue­ning’s designs on the sidewalk outside the designer’s studio in Chinatown. Brue­ning will show his 2013 holiday collection at the “Last Ever” benefit party Friday at The Republik.

Honolulu designer Matt Brue­ning will debut his Holiday 2013 collection during the "BLVQ | MB Holiday Collection Fashion Show," 7:30 p.m. Friday at The Republik, 1349 Kapiolani Blvd. Doors open at 6 p.m.

Bruening's collection is about going back to basics, with garments featuring clean lines, mild structure and simplicity as the path to impact.

The show will kick off Christa Witt­mier's "Last Ever" party combining music, fashion and art to raise funds for the art collective Pow Wow Hawai‘i. Headlining will be electro-pop music duo The Knocks.

Tickets are $20.
