In honor of the CBS Television’s remake of "Hawaii Five-0," Gov. Linda Lingle has declared September "Hawaii Five-0 Month" and wished the cast and crew of the series good luck.

Lingle noted that original "Hawaii Five-0," which ran from 1968 to 1980, played "a key role in our state’s history" because it exposed Hawaii to millions of people nationwide. The new version premiered Monday night at Sunset on the Beach and will air to mainland viewers Sept. 20.

The beauty of Hawaii, paired with CBS storytelling, "will set the stage for another milestone" in Hawaii’s production history, Lingle said.
