Pre-Independence Day activities

jamm aquino / 2010 Aloha Tower hosts a fireworks show every year on the eve of the Fourth of July.

» Aloha Tower Marketplace hosts pre-Independence Day festivities Sunday, starting at 4 p.m. and culminating with a fireworks display at 8:45 p.m. Keiki events include bounce houses, face painting, balloon sculptures and appearances by Uncle Sam on Stilts. Entertainment includes Logan Okuda, Jewels of Paradise Dancers and Efoe & Friends. Call 566-2337.

» Entertainment at Ala Moana Center's Centerstage celebrates the holiday weekend with performances today by Kapena at 12:15 p.m. and John Cruz at 2; Sunday by Maunalua at 12:15 p.m. and Beach 5 at 2:15. » The city's Celebration Parade for America's July 4 birthday travels through Waikiki beginning at 6 p.m. Sunday at Saratoga Road, then continues on Kalakaua Avenue to Kapiolani Park. Live entertainment starts at 7:15 p.m. at Queen's Surf Beach with the Kantorei performing choir and Royal Hawaiian Band, followed by the screening of "Soul Surfer" at Sunset on the Beach at 8:30 p.m. Call 768-5288.
