The newly formed Aloha Church, a nondenominational ministry, will hold its first service Aug. 7 at the Koko Marina 8 Theatres in Hawaii Kai.

The church was founded by head pastor Von Lombard, who had been pastor at a church in Texas for 25 years, according to www.alohachurchcares.com. All are welcome under the tenet “No one goes unnoticed, unloved, or unwanted.”

Lombard said in a news release that the community should “see Christ’s words in action” through its aggressive homeless, singles, seniors and youth outreach ministries.

Pastor Daniel Bodhi Chapin, a member of the Presidential Prayer Team of Washington, D.C., will lead the youth ministry. He is also founder of the International Coalition of Youth for Christ, the release said.

For information, call 428-1347.
