The newly formed Aloha Church, a nondenominational ministry, will hold its first service Aug. 7 at the Koko Marina 8 Theatres in Hawaii Kai.

The church was founded by head pastor Von Lombard, who had been pastor at a church in Texas for 25 years, according to All are welcome under the tenet “No one goes unnoticed, unloved, or unwanted.”

Lombard said in a news release that the community should “see Christ’s words in action” through its aggressive homeless, singles, seniors and youth outreach ministries.

Pastor Daniel Bodhi Chapin, a member of the Presidential Prayer Team of Washington, D.C., will lead the youth ministry. He is also founder of the International Coalition of Youth for Christ, the release said.
