Alleged shooters to appear in court

A 21-year-old Ewa Beach man allegedly fired four to eight shots from a handgun at two men in a drive-by incident Friday in Kapolei, according to court documents.

Kahamaiokumoae Ahsing, who allegedly fired the shots, is scheduled for a preliminary hearing in Honolulu District Court on Wednesday. He has been charged with first-degree terroristic threatening. Ahsing on Sunday also was charged with first-degree reckless endangering.

The alleged driver of the car, Kiani Hayghe, faces a charge of first-degree terroristic threatening. Her preliminary hearing is also scheduled for Wednesday.

Bail was set at $100,000 each.

Two men, both 18, identified Hayghe and Ahsing after the shooting occurred at 5:40 p.m. Friday on Kamaaha Avenue near Kapolei Parkway, according to a police affidavit filed in District Court on Monday.

The two victims said Ahsing was hanging out of the passenger side of a white Honda Civic, driven by Hayghe, that approached their Toyota Tacoma pickup truck from the opposite direction on Kamaaha Avenue.

The police affidavit said one of the shots hit the front fender on the driver’s side of the truck.

No one was injured.

Police located Ahsing and Hayghe leaving Ahsing’s Ewa Beach home on Hanaloa Street just after midnight.

The pair were initially arrested early Saturday on suspicion of attempted murder in the first degree.
