HCDA rail plan cuts parking

    A draft plan for transit-oriented development in Kakaako would permit residential and commercial buildings to be more dense than currently allowed if they comply with other rules that enhance pedestrian, bike and transit use. The shaded area would allow roughly twice as much density.

Extra-tall towers are out, but the density of buildings could double and include less parking in some parts of Kakaako under new proposed rules for development tied to the city’s rail project. Read more
