Waikiki Landing project adrift after losing loan

    Honey Bee USA obtained a lease in December to build a complex that would include a boatyard repair facility, chapel and retail complex on state land at the Ala Wai Small Boat Harbor. So far, the company has cleared the property, removed contaminated soil and razed a dilapidated boatyard building, but lack of funding could sink the project.

    Construction has yet to start on a fuel dock and boat repair facility at the planned Wai­kiki Landing proj­ect site at the Ala Wai Small Boat Harbor, but a master lease with the state requires developer Honey Bee USA Inc. to complete it by June.
