Japan: Fukushima and Tokyo
A boy ran in the snow-covered compound of a temporary housing complex in Fukushima, Japan, on Sunday, Feb. 26, 2012. The compound is for people whose houses are located in the 20-kilometer (12.5 miles) official no-go exclusion zone from the tsunami-crippled Fukushima Dai-ichi nuclear power plant. Radiation is still leaking from the plant, though at a slower pace, nearly a year after the March 11 earthquake and tsunami. It's not immediately fatal but could show up as cancer or other illnesses years later.
