Japan: Miyagi Prefecture

A cat-shaped house stands on Tashirojima island, also known as "Cats island", off Ishinomaki city, Miyagi Prefecture, Japan, Friday, March 9, 2012, two days before the anniversary of the March 11 earthquake and tsunami. The tsunami-hit isolated island, well known for more than 80 stray cats that local residents said survived the disaster, is on the way to recovery using the cats as tourism resources.
