Island Images: Graduation signs

Maria Leon of Waiehu, Maui, took a picture of her brother Xavier and printed out the photograph in sections on a printer, gluing each piece to foamcore board and cutting around the image to create a nearly life-size figure. The 2012 Baldwin graduate is seen here with classmate Pekelo Petersen, who used the iconic Obama poster by Shepard Fairey as the inspiration for his graduation sign.
