U.S. Marine Col. John Miniclier on Midway Atoll Monday, June 4, 2012, in the helmet he wore during the Battle of Midway 70 years ago. Miniclier, who was a 20-year-old private first class during the battle, spotted 33 Japanese bombers on the day of the bombing of the military installation.
