UH-West Oahu unveils new campus to public, August 18, 2012

The public was invited to attend the grand opening of the new University of Hawai’i West Oahu Campus in Kapolei. There was free entertainment, food trucks and family activities to showcase the latest in 21st Century higher education. This is (l-r) kumu hula, Leilani Basham, Kahaulani Vegas, Leina'ala Nihipali, Christine Kaliko Shindo and Keolamaile McComber performing a hula (actually Basham is chanting). Basham teaches Hawaiian studies and language at UH West Oahu. The girls are in Hawaiian Pacific Studies 312.
