Board of Water Supply crews are responding to a small water main break in a residential neighborhood in Waipahu, a spokesman for the Board of Water Supply said.
Twenty-four customers are without water, and a water wagon is on its way while troubleshooters work to turn off the water valves in the area, Keoni Mattows said.
The 8-inch water main broke and started flooding the street near 94-967 Kahuailani St. around 2:25 p.m., he said.
Kahuailani Street is currently closed between Niau Street and Mokuola Street, but Mattows said the residential location of the break has otherwise resulted in a minimal impact on traffic flow.
The water main was installed in 1954, he said. Repairs are expected to continue throughout the evening.
