'Iolani Palace artifacts displayed at Royal Ball
This satin dress, made in Paris, was worn by Emily Cutts Judd to the coronation ball for King David Kalakaua on Feb. 12, 1883. It was donated to Iolani Palace by Judd’s great-granddaughter, Patricia Swenson, and will be on display at Saturday’s Royal Ball. Judd’s husband, Charles Hastings Judd, served as chamberlain to the king from 1878 to 1886. The gown will be on display through next week in the Palace Galleries; admission is $7.
