DISCOVERING AVIATION: Hawaiian Airlines and the Hawaii Children’s Discovery Center unveiled a new interactive airline exhibit Monday that will be open to the public starting today. The exhibit uses real aircraft components and video displays to simulate the flight experience and encourages children to don airline uniforms and imagine themselves working and flying aboard a Hawaiian Airlines flight. The center has added other interactive features including a check-in kiosk, an in-flight service cart and uniforms for both flight attendants and pilots. As part of the partnership, Hawaiian will promote the Children’s Discovery Center to its customers, and the center will promote Hawaiian to the center’s visitors and members. At top, Isabella Kapali, 6, center, and her brother Luke, 5, of Waialua practiced flying at the center with the help of Hawaiian Airlines First Officer Sylvie Benjamin.
