Pastor Guy Kapeliela said a blessing Friday during a groundbreaking ceremony for a Hawaiian Homestead residential subdivision of Kaka'ina in Waimanalo. Attending the Department of Hawaiian Home Lands groundbreaking were Gov. Neil Abercrombie, community leaders, government officials and future homesteaders. Construction will begin in July on the seven-acre development, which will have 44 single-family lots, and is expected to be completed by April 2013.
